@Melanie - yes I did ask what you think and I love your thoughts there so thanks. I particularly loved this:

"To say that intention can’t affect the workings of the cosmos is to separate the mind from the surroundings. "

That has made more sense to me than any of the books on Karma and/or Law of Attraction that I have ever read ever (and I've read a lot). So thanks to you :-)

Hi Evan - I wonder if they are supposed to get on or if the dynamic tension between the two is a good and integral part of life?

Both the sceptic and believer are a valuable part of you. Welcome them, let them talk to each other. As they learn to get on a whole new life is born.

Karma - action and reaction.
Well it seems the way of this reality.
Karma doesn't seem much different from my Sunday School lessons - you reap what you sow.
But ..what if...the you in you is not YOU anymore? :-)

I think karma is just a natural process that's compatible with the ideas in this article. Karma only seems "woo-woo" because people have attached the same "good" and "bad" labels to it, but it's really just energy being pushed around. To say that intention can't affect the workings of the cosmos is to separate the mind from the surroundings. All thoughts are present in the aura, which is just more energy. Why shouldn't it affect anything?
I like to think of the universe as a line of dominoes, or perhaps Jell-O. Every action affects the entire thing. I really don't know how things we do specifically come back to us, but I'm sure it has something to do with the hologram idea mentioned above, to which I subscribe.
I'm not sure if I answered your question the way you meant, but you did ask what I thought...

Just to follow up on what I said with an example - It is amazing to know that every one of our cells have the exact same functions as our macro body does. Our cells breath air, eat food, have circulatory systems, and eliminate waste to name just a few. Every one of our billions of cells are like this. Together they form our macro-body. The universe is like those Russian dolls that stack inside each other.

I have seen a very reasonable explenation of karma and reincarnation from a quantum physics point of view. It was quite mind blowing considering I have struggled with the concept of reincarnation personally.

Karma of course just means action. Unless we're talking Buddhism where it has to do with intention. The play out of cause and effect is quite apparent. Nothing dies as such. Everything simply transforms. There is nothing that simply ceases to be. Thus what we think and do can continue to play out as future effects.

On the nature of the universe it is very apparent at this time that the universe emulates itself on all levels. The nature of a hologram is such that even the smallest piece of the hologram is an exact replica of the entire hologram. Scale is something produced by limited human perceptions as is time and disconnection as opposed to the gigantic all encompasing present and interdependence or oneness.

There is no matter as such. Everything is consciousness observing consciousness.
