Hi Bengt! Yes! The mailing list seems like an obvious choice doesn't it? While we are on the topic - if you are new here or you haven't yet - why not go up the top right of this page and join our very occasional mailing list and get the free e-book goodness for your efforts? I've had at least one person say it was quite good :-)

Twitter is one way of promoting your own posts. Creating your own mailing list for that purpose is another one. You are a rebel, find a way that suits your needs.

Thanks for the comments guys. Very helpful.

@Dr Algorithm (I presume?) Thanks for your help over the last couple of days and I am right now checking out all you have to offer at the Linback project

@Maya - I do have a twitter account http://twitter.com/seamusanthony - since yesterday I am starting to think about how to work with it to promote posts. Please go ahead and befriend me (or follow as they call it, which sounds weird to me).

@Harmony - yes, better roll with the punches and stop thumbing up your own stuff.

I am actually pretty new to using social media to connect with others and promote stuff. It's already been a fast learning curve but I am coming up with some awesome, although probably not revolutionary, ideas about how it can work well for you. Please feel free to email me at Seamus AT rebel zen DOT com to join with us on our efforts to be of mutual benefit.

Anyway - this is all right off topic and we will be back with our regularly scheduled Rebel Zen insights tomorrow. Steve has been desperately coding his little bottom off and I have been writing up a storm for some freelance copywriting work and also working on a new e-book we are releasing very soon, maybe even next week. See you soon.

What did they expect? You are REBEL Zen. Does that not imply a bit of doing it your own way? :-)
Glad to know that. I have been recommending my own, as I find it very difficult to ask others to do it.
I am the same in life...so no big mystery here. :-) Saw your article at PTB. I figured ...how many SA can there be?

Seamus,

Are you on twitter? Build a community there and update them when you have a new post. Twitter is very non interfering and a great way to promote your posts.

Hey Friend! Thanks for the linkback!... I know it really stinks that folks cannot submit their articles, but it is not your fault! It is the collective fault of the spammers that did NOTHING but submit their own articles. You couldn't get THESE spammers to even thumbs up a post to save their lives. When spammers find a loophole, then exploit it, ya gotta know that the day will come when the company will have to close it, it is just common sense to expect it. But like every other time a loophole is closed, it cuts off the heads of all the innocent who either "weren't abusing it, but using it here and there." Or those "that didn't even know the dern thing existed!" Many we talked to were furious, but we found the majority of rage was coming from the abusers. (Mad they got caught is all) LOL

The send to option works well. Those people are on your friends list for just that reason, to be friends, and network. If they ignore, never answer back, you don't see them at least thumbing up posts you send them? Cut them off, find new friends. SU friends list is not a "collect as many names as possible to win". Nope, it is about collecting the list of friends that want to help, and that expect you to help them, when they need it.

Wheat from the chaff my friend.... Cull that herd... Friends that work together, stay on my list forever. :-) The bums get the bums rush...
